Florida Fun
This past weekend we had the chance to fly out to Florida to photograph a wedding. And just to break free from the mold, Naomi let me (Alan) take over the blogging for a day! 
We flew out a day early, just in case, so we took a mini vacation on the beach for a morning. We ate at a little seafood restaurant just off of Fort Myers Beach and had some delicious shrimp. 
When we get to fly out for a destination wedding we like to photograph the Rehearsal and Dinner. It was a fun outdoor dinner at the resort, and a great time was had by all. The bird pictured here was sure that the dinner being served was actually for him, and he was ever vigilant at his post searching for any unattended morsels. I actually saw him take a good portion of a sandwich right off of a plate!
We loved photographing in Florida, and have decided we really enjoy the change of pace and scenery that comes with destination weddings. We will be posting images from the actual event soon!
Life: filled and overflowing
I think this is one of those posts you are supposed to do around Thanksgiving…but who says you have to limit your thankfulness to a particular season! Looking back over the last year, Alan and I have a ton to be thankful for.
We have been blessed with amazing friends and family who have been so supportive through our years of working way too much and spending way too little time with them.Thank you, we love each and every one of you!
We have been blessed by the wonderful people we have met through our photography. We have had the opportunity to get to know so many people and hear so many stories. I love stories, I love being able to catch a glimpse into other people’s stories and help them tell their own stories through the pictures we take. Our clients have inspired me again and again through their stories, their lives and kindness!
Our business has been growing like crazy and we are so thankful to those of you who have been instrumental in that growth. Whether you have done work for us, been a teacher for us, or have been a sounding board as we work though ideas…we are thankful to you for the role you have played. Many of you know that I have been full time with our photography biz for a year and a half. Beginning in April, Alan will officially move into a full time role with our photography as well! Not only will he photograph everything with me, he will get to help with all the other organization and running of this business of ours.
We are still in shock and awe that we have already met our goal of booking 30 weddings for the 2010 calendar year. We still have a few dates late fall and early winter that are open for booking, but we are now jumping in to booking for 2011!
Thank you, thank you, thank you! We are so excited to see what lays ahead on this path of life.
Pantown
A few weeks back we we got to do our first ever fully live band shoot. We were asked by Minneapolis local group, Pantown to attend one of their gigs and photograph their time on stage. What a rush! We arrived at the venue early to scope out the areas we would have access to and what angles we could get. Unfortunately we did not know what the light was going to be like before the show began and whether we should attempt to gain permission to add out own light to the setting. Oh well, it totally worked out; thank goodness for cameras that can handle such a huge range of light! Here are the rock stars of Pantown!
