Something Different This Way Comes. . .

Stay tuned for changes coming to PPM June 6!

Canon and Jackie – married!

We flew in to Fort Myers, FL on Thursday evening for Canon and Jackie’s wedding, but we weren’t the only ones traveling out for this wedding. One of the most amazing things about their wedding (aside from the fact that it was a marvelous beach wedding) was that they had an amazing number of friends and family who all traveled out for their wedding! They had 6 groomsmen, 7 bridesmaids and around 100 guests! The love and support for these two was soooo evident. The wedding was held at Sundial Beach Resort on Sanibel Island just off Fort Myers, FL.

The sky was threatening storms all morning with thick clouds and fog over the water. But once 5:30 rolled around and it was time to start the ceremony, the sun came out! It was absolutely perfect!

The reception was originally scheduled for a courtyard area outside, but with the threat of rain they decided to move it inside. It worked out very well as it began to rain a little just after everyone made inside.

This knife definitely takes the cake for cake cutting knives! They couldn’t immediately find the set they had for cutting the cake so they borrowed one from the kitchen…here’s to intensive cutlery!

One of the most entertaining parts of the dance was Rylee, the son of the matron of honor, as Canon taught him a whole set to dance moves! Pretty soon Rylee was entertaining the whole group!

This might be one of my favorite ring pictures we have taken yet! It reminds me of one of those “I Spy” books!

Canon and Jackie, it was a delight to join you, your friends and your families to celebrate your marriage! We wish you many blessings in your new chapter of life!

Canon and Jackie-rehearsal

Last Friday night we joined Canon and Jackie for their rehearsal and grooms dinner. It was great to see where everything was going to take place and start to get to know their friends and family! The festivities took place at Sundial Beach and Golf Resort on Sanibel Island, FL.

The ceremony was planned for a beautiful little spot on the beach overlooking the water.

The groom’s dinner was held outside next to the pool area. It was so much fun to watch as friends and family came down to join Canon and Jackie…there’s something so beautiful about friends and family gathering for a joyous event!

As the evening went on the clouds began to clear a little and we were able to catch a few colors in the sky as the sun set!

Florida Fun

This past weekend we had the chance to fly out to Florida to photograph a wedding. And just to break free from the mold, Naomi let me (Alan) take over the blogging for a day!  We flew out a day early, just in case, so we took a mini vacation on the beach for a morning.  We ate at a little seafood restaurant just off of Fort Myers Beach and had some delicious shrimp.

When we get to fly out for a destination wedding we like to photograph the Rehearsal and Dinner.  It was a fun outdoor dinner at the resort, and a great time was had by all.  The bird pictured here was sure that the dinner being served was actually for him, and he was ever vigilant at his post searching for any unattended morsels.  I actually saw him take a good portion of a sandwich right off of a plate!

We loved photographing in Florida, and have decided we really enjoy the change of pace and scenery that comes with destination weddings.  We will be posting images from the actual event soon!

Corey and Jessica – married!

Saturday was the opening of our 2010 wedding season and what a way to begin! Corey and Jessica and their friends and families are truly wonderful people. We were delighted to get to spend the day with them all! I met the ladies at the Radison Hotel on the U of M campus to begin photographing hair and make-up. Hair and make-up was done by Cathi and Kira of Smart & Chic Bride. These two women did a wonderful job and were a great asset to the morning!

Alan joined the gentlemen at Northwestern as they finished their getting ready.

I loved hanging out with the ladies…they were lots of fun, had tons of personality and were all really sweet!

After the ceremony we got to join the wedding party at a park for an additional set of pictures. I love it when we get a little extra time for pictures between the ceremony and reception whether it’s the whole wedding party or just the bride and groom…it gives us more time for fun creative pics!

The reception was at the Profile Event Center.

The party was DJ-ed by Michael from Midwest Sound DJ Entertainment. This was the second time we have had the pleasure of working with a DJ from this company and it was the second time we have been impressed by their DJs as they have been very personable, classy and know how to throw a great party that fits well with the bride and groom’s party.

Congratulations Corey and Jessica, we hope you are enjoying your trip to the Bahamas! It was a delight to be a part of your wedding day…we hope your new lives together are filled with all kinds of blessings!
